Visa

For general rules to enter Italy, please check the Visa webpages from the official website of the Italian "Ministero degli Esteri" or enquire an Italian Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence.

To verify whether or not you need a visa, you can visit the Do you need a visa webpage, but please, double check with an Italian Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence.

In case you need, we can provide a standard letter to support your VISA application.
In your request to us, you should specify:

Name and Surname
Place and date of birth
Nationality
Country of residence
Passport number
Your address of residence and FAX number
Enclose also a brief CV and your present scientific affiliation

Please contact visa@statphys23.org to request such a letter to be written for you.

Please, do not ask the Chairman to write this kind of documents.

Depending on your country of residence, the Italian Embassy/Consulate may require several kinds of documents to grant your VISA. The only document we can provide is the standard letter (with proof of lodging only for invited speakers), please do not ask for other documentation.

According to the Italian Ministery of Foreign Affairs, the required documents are:

The standard letter from the organizers of the Conference
A copy of your hotel booking voucher
A visa application form
Proof of economics means of support
Return ticket or booking
Valid Passport
Recent photo
Health insurance with a minimun coverage of 30,000 euro for emergency hospital expenses
Documentation of socio-professional standing
